I was born and raised in Springfield and still live in the area. I do not in general sense the attitude about which you posted. I have degrees from both SMS and Mizzou and I will say that many SMS folks, even those from St. Louis & KC, have an inferiority complex about Mizzou and seem to think or want to think that the schools are on even footing in every regard, which is, of course, ridiculous. SMS is a great place and has its role to play, but it does not hold a candle to Mizzou, statewide, regionally, nationally, or worldwide. Their delving into FBS football will be a long, hard road.
