their business model is not a "fad" any more than QT is a fad. Turns out people like clean bathrooms, plentiful meal and snack options and good quality gas. You might enjoy stale cigarette smoke wafting over your Little Debbie's but most people don't. They also don't like little rinky dink gas stations often, especially on road trips, they might have to wait in line to get gas because there's so few pumps.
Love's is great for truckers, but not for families, at least versus a Buccee's.
And your EV comment is hilarious since it turns out a lot of people think not buying gas and less costly repairs than a traditional vehicle makes sense for their pocketbooks. It's not a "scam". Man you can't be long for this world with all of this old balls Boomer from the 1970's ideas.
