I don't know if it is still true, but there was a time that you would be forever barred from crossing the border into Canada if you had a DWI or DUI.
Canada used to be a great country. They used to be more free than the USA (as much as it pains me to admit that). But they have been destroyed by ultra-liberal politics over the past 30 or so years.
