it was more about burning crosses or simply making their presence felt.

There is certainly video of at least one Jewish student at UCLA being blocked from accessing areas of campus where he had classes.

I think most people are smart enough to know the difference between a group gathering to rightly protest and mobs formed with the intent to intimidate if not frighten others. If there are indeed policies against such actions, I would expect those policies to be followed.
