important to him. He could have demanded more for the past ten years and forced the Chiefs to pay him. But he wants to win so he has left money on the table for other players.

It looks like the Chiefs have decided that they are set this season, they still had some cap space remaining and tossed it to Kelce as a sign of good faith.

Kelce chose to sit out the last week and cost himself another 1000 yd season. He then balled out during the playoffs far exceeding his regular season production. He set a great example of what it means to be a team player and the Chiefs decided to recognize him for it.
