We're "doing better" in some part because ours is "the" currency that most of the rest of the world depends on.
That, and because we buy a lot of **** collectively.
We import cheap chinese **** and we export inflation.
We'd do even better at reducing inflation if we would stop printing money to fund congress' spending.
