Nix was a mediocre, at best, college QB until he went to Oregon and their video game offense. I don't know that he is an upgrade over Stidham. The only thing that keeps this from being a disaster of a pick is that the Broncos were desperate. They had no draft capital to move on the board and no cap space to sign a veteran.

Penix may have been an acceptable pick if they had not just signed Cousins to a $100M deal. Do they really sit on a 24-year-old rookie for two years before giving him a shot?
