We have seen that happen before. In theory stocks and bonds will move inversely, and precious metals will add a lot of diversification, but if there is a market crunch they can all move largely in unison.
When the bigger players, especially, start getting large margin calls, they will start liquidating positions across the board. Drops can start triggering the bots and people can start panicking causing an avalanche of sales.
