My favorite is when they "bury the lead" in their articles. They'll start with something like "(Team or player) had a great score, or tied a school record, in the loss to (opponent)."

But then, the writers aren't there for journalistic skills. Their job is to put a positive spin on things. And they don't have the same deadlines as a newspaper does, which is why we sometimes have to wait a day or two for a game result.
