believed the us women's soccer team deserved to get paid more than the men's team because they were better than the men. they 100% believed the women's team would beat the men's team if they played.
i also witnessed a pretty funny debate between one of the women i used to work with who was a former D1 track athlete and another coworker, a man in his early 50's. she ran hurdles and he asked how fast she ran and then half-jokingly said "i bet i could beat that" and she got super offended and challenged him to a race. they lined up in the street outside the bar and raced and he beat her pretty easily. we all thought it was funny. she didn't, but she was in her late 20's and a 1 so it all worked out in the end.
