Also, there is an important distinction between "qualified" and "most qualified"...
For example, one could argue that DRF was a qualified applicant for the Mizzou AD position, but she certainly wasn't the *most qualified*.
Her alleged "woman of color" status gave her priority over more qualified candidates. That's DEI at work.
Similarly, Gates never would have been hired for the Mizzou job if not for his skin color. He was an unimpressive low-major coach who never had a team ranked higher than #169 in Kenpom... as I laid out in the OP, there was nothing in his resume/track record that indicated he was ready for an SEC job.
DRF, who serves on the board of a coalition that advocates for anti-white discrimination, wanted a black coach and excluded all other candidates. She did the same thing with the baseball hire (Jackson) who has a career losing record of 75-96.
And now we have the worst teams in the SEC, in both sports.
