Alberts started at UNO then got the UNL position which appeared to everyone as being exactly where he wanted to be. Now only 3 years in he ups and leaves after very recently agreeing to an 8 year contract.
This guy has spoken recently about,(maybe/probably as a warning to these weak leaders), the coming break of about 40 schools from the rest of the pack, a group his new school will undoubtedly be a part of.
Is it the BIG cutting NU from it's ranks due to the friction from several seasons ago when NU spoke out against potential plans to stop football from being played?
Possibly a massive lawsuit where a female athlete is claiming she was treated poorly by the university after inappropriate relations between her and a UNL employee?
No way of knowing why Alberts left so unexpectedly but adding 2 + 2 in this case would indicate something really bad for the universities future, and thus the value and desirability of his remaining there as AD, has been brought to his attention since the 8 year contract so happily agreed to with his favorite school.
