that sort of permit has never been relevant to my life at any point, as my oldest never had a lemonade stand before 2019. So, me being "ignorant" that they even existed should be understandable.

You sure thought this was an embarrassing moment for me though, didn't you? Should I be "aware" of laws that were never relevant for me and haven't been law for five years?
