the office via the shop area and started talking to our admin assistant. Only thing was, he was speaking Spanish and she couldn't understand what he wanted. And he spoke no English. I heard the exchange and had to step out of my office to see what the hell was going on. My spanish is limted to "No habla" and a few other phrases, but he just rattled on like we understood what the fvck he was talking about.

Finally got him out of the office and back into the shop. All our installers were gone to lunch, but we leave a side door unlocked for UPS and FedEx to make deliveries.

Find one installer and he runs out to the adjacent business which is having lawn work done from a landscape company and manages to come back with a translator.

Turns out the kid is looking for work. As he stands there in our shop surrounded by gutted police cars in the build process, I am wondering "yeah, how's that going to work? Jose, we have to take the car apart, install all this color-coded wiring and specialized equipment, and put everything back together again. Comprende?"

After our translator was finished and I gave him a business card of our shop foreman, we sent him on his way. He didn't head out the side door--no, he went out a back door on the clear other side of the shop.
