so we know you're lost.

There's nothing unrealistic about 10-2 next year. Even if that's also optimistic, it's also realistic. This is not a brutal SEC schedule - it's a very manageable schedule.

We will be expected to win our 4 non-cons pretty easily (Murray State, Buffalo, Boston College, @Umass).

We will be expected to win against Vanderbilt, @South Carolina, @Mississippi State, and Arkansas. So, so far it's realistic to be 8-0 in these games.

Tell me why it's unrealistic for Mizzou to be worse than 2-2 in our games @Texas A&M, home against Auburn, @Alabama, home against Oklahoma.

Texas A&M has a new head coach, a bunch of turnover on staff and roster, and they were 7-6 last season. We play them in early October.

Auburn was 6-7 last year, and the last time they won more than 6 games in a season was 2019. They have a strong recruiting class and a bunch of highly rated transfers, but we've see that not have immediate results FAR MORE OFTEN than we've seen it immediately change things. Especially in football. See Colorado last year. It's in Columbia for Homecoming.

Alabama is Alabama. As of right now, nobody is going to pick Mizzou to win that game. But if there's ever going to be a year to beat Alabama, maybe it's this year. New coach, staff turnover, a few roster defections, MAYBE they're not typical Alabama this year. It's realistic to lose this game, but this right now will be our best chance to beat them since we joined the SEC.

Oklahoma is a good football team and good football program. Last year we were better than them. Maybe they'll be better than us this year. Nobody knows. It's in Columbia, it's late in the year, they will have already played Houston, Tennessee, Auburn, Texas, and Ole Miss before us (although the week before us they play Maine, so basically a bye...that sucks for us). They also have Alabama and LSU in the weeks following us. Nobody can say with any certainty right now which team is favored in that game.

So - 10-2 is incredibly realistic.
