Biden opened up the border. WHY?

We know that President Biden implemented over 60 policies that encouraged illegal immigration into the US, starting on his very first day in office when he ended the national emergency previously declared at the southwest border, halting emergency construction of the border wall.
WHY did Biden open up the border and encourage the tsunami wave of illegal immigration? WHY? Is it because the majority of Americans in favor of this? Of course not. In fact, is there anyone who has publicly stated they are in favor of the tsunami and defend it in public? It seems no one will explain why we need it. WHY were Biden's actions a good idea? How is it going to help this country? How will our grandchildren will live in a better place because of it? How is our already fractious society going to be improved by an infusion of people with no connection to American culture, no understanding of American history or American civics and may not even like America?
Tucker Carlson has offered one plausible explanation of why:
1. According to a recent study from Yale, there are at least 22 million illegal immigrants living in the United States.
2. Democrats plan to give all of them citizenship – read the Democrats 2016 party platform.
3. Studies show the overwhelming majority of first-time immigrant voters vote Democrat.
4. The biggest landslide in American presidential history was only 17 million votes. Do the math.
5. The payoff for Democrats? Permanent electoral majority for the foreseeable future. In a word, power.
Does someone have a different explanation of why Biden opened up the border? One that demonstrates how his actions on the border were good for our country?
