Samuel Johnson’s Dictionary (1755 & 1773)
CRIME. n.s. [crimen, Lat. crime, French.] An act contrary to right; an offence; a great fault; an act of wickedness.
Notice no mention of laws? A crime was an immoral act.
You fail to see how the redefinition to include breaking of laws is a sleight of hand giving the illusion that breaking laws written by government is an immoral act.
You have some awareness of words being redefined in recent years. Multiple posts from you regarding how making someone feel bad is now considered assault in some places.
But you are completely unaware of how words were redefined before your time, including crime.
Manipulating language is a powerful tool in controlling thought. Go read George Orwell’s 1984 if you don’t get it.
But wake the fvck up. It isn’t a new “Marxist” phenomena. It started before you were born. It started before Karl Marx was born.
