He did the right thing, although it didn't go down all that well with some of his supporters. IIRC, we didn't know who was responsible at the time. The CIA has a track record of letting us get caught with our pants down and often blaming the wrong group. Reagan retaliated after the withdrawal by sending some salvos from New Jersey's 16" rifles at suspected terrorist bases.
