For all the debate about Bates, Tonje, and Grill’s impact, I will always believe the biggest issue this season was that Butler and Pierce weren’t ready, Vanover has shot poorly from deep and is limited to boot and Shaw can’t do much offensively except dunk. And having all those wing guys would not have changed things for Mizzou as much as some think. Maybe a few more wins but not a NCAA invite amount. We are team of relative midgets with all the limits that imposes. Need Butler and Pierce to develop, maybe Shaw develop his game and hope the 2 7 footer recruits provide something. As I’ve been told and agree with, it is hard to find quality height in the portal but try they must.
