some historians have this view (mostly from the south) they are actually saying that after the south seceded Lincoln should have negotiated their return. Actually there was nothing to negotiate. The nation had already crossed the red line that the southerners put up. The Southerners were not wanting to negotiate anything and they thought that they could get assistance from England. Slavery was illegal in England. Southerners the dumb****s that they were (or are) just did what dumb****s do.
