Next year and leverage that into a head coach job. Instead he moves laterally into a much less stable position. Kelly will be gone in 1-2 seasons.
Something else is up. Maybe he felt like the D was going to lose too much & he didn’t want his stock to fall or LSU is going to dump so much at NIL that he’ll get credited for the turnaround.
