Alden was tops in branding, surely college football's best.

Don't remember the year(s) he was national A.D. of the year.
A Mizzou team that might level up that could use a national identity/presence - the Tiger Head, the font and "Mizzou" name protection. It's also nice looking Tiger.
But the topper may have been the marketing. Sell high school (or other teams) to use logo for a dollar (while obviously protecting the copright) That's instant recognition from coast-to-coast.
And if the team gets some big wins, kids now grow up wanting to play for the familiar tiger head.
But blind Tigerboaders wouldn't know their butt from a hole in ground.
