You seem to think that it is ALL R or ALL D and that if X did Y than the affiliation of X determines if it is good or bad. I was around for Nixon friend. I considered him my president. And Nixon governed in a time when politicians sought by and large to serve the nation and its people rather than targeted contingents thereof. Nixon got us into China, a good move. He extended war in Vietnam - b/c he did not want to be first potus to lose a war - that was a bad thing. But it was not his affiliation that made either good or bad. Environmental degradation at that time of the Ohio River on file and the Hudson demanded action and Nixon to his credit took action.
