Sooner once they got the Sooner Schooner. It makes sense when you realize that Boomer Sooner comes from the land rush, and boomers went on the day the cannon went off, BOOM, while the sooners were the ones that Cheated and went the day before and the military was given orders to shoot any on site. So it is only fitting that OU pick the Cheating portion of their history as their call name, Sooners.
