Cody Schrader continued his storybook season for Missouri on Monday.
The senior running back was named the winner of the Burlsworth Trophy, an award given to the most outstanding FBS player who began his career as a walk-on.
Schrader is the first Missouri player to receive the honor, which was presented to him during a live presentation at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas. Former Tigers guard Max Copeland finished as a finalist for the award in 2013.
A transfer from Division-II Truman State who walked on at MU and rose up the depth chart, Schrader earned the award over Oklahoma receiver Drake Stoops and James Madison nose guard James Carpenter.
Entering the season as the Tigers' lead running back, Schrader totaled an SEC-best 1,489 rushing yards this season and rushed for 13 touchdowns. He finished the regular season at No. 3 on Missouri's single-season rushing leaderboard.
