The Wishbone could be a devasting offense. Texas, then Oklahoma Bama subsequently ran it

Eventually, defenses figured it out, string it out.
ESPN often shows "The Game of the Century" Nebraska at ou, Thanksgiving Day, 1971 Nebraska's defense was stout, with back to back Outland winners and still ou ran up and down the field.
