Politicos will tell you that Newsom connects really strongly with voters and Whitmer would be a fearsome candidate. Dems have an increasingly strong bench.

And my God man, you think closing a few prisons caused crime ?? that is beyond stupid as is most of that list as items Newsom "ushered in".
