The advice they gave is most likely irrelevant. It may matter if he receives bad advice from his current lawyers in the case of an appeal but, generally speaking, if a crime has been committed, it's on the person committing the crime to know the law. Just like you Spanky are responsible for paying your taxes correctly even though you may have had them prepared by an accountant.
And I kind of doubt that will be the extent of their testimony anyway. Trump's already thrown them all under the bus. There is no loyalty remaining.
