they aren't.
Drink has to claim he's a "christian" for recruiting the south. I'd do the same thing in his situation.
And the players – who attended "church" from an early age – still haven't reached a point in life that allows them to *think for themselves*. It's the same reason college kids are overwhelmingly liberal, but then they grow up, start thinking for themselves, and realize they were *indoctrinated* by people they trusted.
And lastly, I know a lot of so-called "christians" who attend church and *want* to believe, but deep down they know it's a farce. Their so-called "faith" is just wishful thinking and wanting to belong to a community.
The stories about wizards and talking snakes might have been believable at a time when the earth was considered flat, and there were sun gods and moon gods, etc... but the world is too enlightened now (well, most of us) to believe such fairytales.
I'll give Jesus of Nazareth credit... It was a *brilliant* sales pitch from an aspiring cult leader – promising the unenlightened masses that all their sins would be forgiven if only they BELIEVE HE'S GOD.
"Worship me, and receive eternal salvation" he claimed.
What a bunch of fools.
