To really put consistent pressure on a QB, you need more than one stud DE. Have we ever really had that?
Look at what happened to Justin Smith while he was here. Because he was as good as he was, and he was the only threat opponents had, they could easily scheme for him. If he rushed from the outside, the play would go inside, and vice versa.
We'll have a good DL when we can pressure a QB without having to blitz.
