They want to project power but can't. They want to kneecap economic rivals but can't because they rely heavily on exports to those rivals and imports from those rivals and others.

China cannot feed itself or power itself without the rest of the world.

They've got a demographic disaster brought on by that social engineering fubar One-Child policy. Their economy has been powered by exports and large capital projects paid for largely by direct payment by the government or through government run businesses.

Manufacturers are running from China both because of their disastrous response to Covid (which was a joke) and because China is no longer wage competitive. Apple moved or is moving almost all manufacturing to INDIA.

Biden has united the Aussies, the Kiwis, the Filipinos, the Japanese and the Koreans in a protectionist pact against China.

He kneecapped China with the Chips Act. Took China's ability to make high end technology products due to lack of sourcing for high end chips.

I could go on but that's just a taste...
