Government does with what a democratic republic is supposed to do.

It's not the mechanism of government that is wrong. It is the corrupt, greedy, insatiably power-hungry people that screw it up.

The people who rail against government act as if government were abolished people would all be wonderful, benevolent, kind hearted, generous, and honest with each other, and it is only government that corrupts them.

I would disagree.
