I was eleven years old but knew more about Mizzou basketball than most anything else back then. I definitely remember the names Ken Pollitz and Ron Selbo but would never have identified them in a million years. Zero memory of Tim Osborne. He must have quit or transferred. In the photo, he looks like the best player on the team that included three guys who played in the NBA (briefly). I knew Dave Stallman because he came to my class at Russell Blvd. Elementary when I was in 5th grade as a student teacher. We thought he was awesome because he would play basketball with us on the playground at recess.
I remember Don Kelley vaguely, but think he was replaced by Gary Garner the next year and Garner moved in up the street, and all of us in the neighborhood would play on his basketball goal in his driveway and he couldn’t have been nicer to us. Curtis Berry came over and played with us one afternoon when we were recruiting him (Old School. No NIL.). He was really tall and Garner brought us gallons of lemonade. So in some small manner, I helped us get one of the best power forwards, IMO, in Mizzou history….
