Imagine Whispering Joe addressing blind war veterans…

I can't imagine what it's like to be totally blind, but I'll tell you, one time on vacation at the beach, a piece of sand blew into my left eye was very uncomfortable and it took me about 30 seconds to get it out and to get my vision all the way back.

So I can relate in some small way to what you're going through.

And another time on Air Force One going to vacation we had some turbulence and hot coffee spilled on my right hand. It really hurt. So those of you with skin graft from burns in the war believe me I know what you're going through.

And let me tell you about the time in fourth grade when I bumped my toe, and then the time when I was in high school and then the three times in college, when …

And then there was just last week when this other thing happened and then I got arrested with Nelson Mandela in South Africa.
