Its going adequately. I wouldn't say that it's "not going well." That's just what pro-Putin mouthpieces report.
Ukraine is losing fewer personnel than Russia, but minefields and established entrenchments along with lack of aircraft take more time unless all you want to do is waste your personnel. That's been the Russian tactic, since Putin doesn't care about how many he has killed or wounded. Ukraine thinks differently. Hence, gains are slower.
War of any kind sucks. Ukraine deserves its sovereignty and will eventually win.
