Salida is a great little mountain town

Go to the Boathouse (pub), High Side (pub), Moonlight (pizza/brewery), or the Fritz (fine-ish dining). Check out the Wood's High Mountain Distillery if you're interested in a pre-meal drink. Go the Bunny and Clyde's or Sweeties for breakfast or lunch. Get a loaf of bread from Little Red Hen. Grab some local honey from the Beekeeper's Honey Boutique (family run for over 100 years. They ship the bees to California in the winter). Lots of hiking in the area as well as fly fishing and off-roading.

But, we're partial to the area. Visited and fell in love a few years ago. Bought land between Salida and Monarch Pass and will hopefully be building at some point in the next 2 years. Working on the site plan and designs currently.
