Red states, in general, have been tracking to being more receptive to the movers for various reasons. I would suggest it is more economical vs social (maybe some crime as well), but people can have their opinions on that.

Having an aging population also favors moving south which happens to be more red certainly plays into it, plus the fact that you can do more and more work remotely.
