With the All-Star game on Tuesday and half a million visitors expected, Seattle has decided to clear out its homeless encampments near downtown. Of course, that is just a coincidence according to the liberal mayor (yeah, sure).
The first role of government should be to protects its citizens. So why does it take an event like this for the city to take action? As the guy says in the article, they should be doing this for the hard-working people of Seattle. Instead, they bend over backwards to cater to the homeless, and seem deathly afraid to take any stance against them.
My assistant went to Seattle about a year ago and said it was absolutely disgusting. Blocks and blocks of tents, drug needles, fees, rats. But the libs are afraid to take any sort of stance against this for fear of ticking off their base. It's the same way in Portland and San Francisco, and also LA (though their skid row is concentrated around downtown LA). Common denominator - all run by liberal, left wing Democrats for years.
I do have some sympathy for people that have fallen on hard times, who need help. I do not have sympathy for the drug addicts, who sit around all day looking for a fix and contributing nothing to society. All I hear is "it's a addiction." But who made the decision to start taking drugs in the first place before they became addicted?
