into SEC Matchup weekend. 8 SEC games determine your place in the SEC standings, you still have 4 Non-con games, you just play a 9th game that will only determine your bowl game attendence.
4 pods makes 2 divisions, match up the 1 v 1, 2 v 2, 3 v 3, etc.
Every year the "divisions" are different because you rotate the pods that are in each division.
Why would anybody turn down the added revenue or 1 more game
