I don't know where to start.
Dallas isn't "Big 12 Country" any more than it's "AAC Country" for having SMU and (soon) North-Texas. The SEC has the state's 2 premier brands (including The Texas Longhorns). Texas-Christian is a tiny private school with only 10,000 students. There are *way more* A&M and Longhorn fans/alums in the DFW area.
And Arizona isn't home to a large Mizzou alum base. In fact, it's further away from Mizzou than any current or future SEC school, including the Florida Gators.
We don't have to be in the Big 12 to play KU, but my preference is to cancel the series with KU and never play them again. It's a trashy school that MU shouldn't associate itself with. There's a reason that all of the power-conferences have rejected them. Ending that relationship was one of the main benefits of leaving the Big 12.
The SEC will be a better basketball conference going forward with the Sooners, Longhorns, and ever-widening revenue & TV exposure gap between the P2 and everyone else.
The SEC is a perfect fit for MU.
The *old* Big 12 is gone. Now it has Brigham Young, Central Florida, Texas Christian, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Baylor, Houston, TX Tech...
It's a conference of leftovers. It has the Central-Florida Knights and Texas-Christian Frogs, while the SEC has the Florida Gators and Texas Longhorns.
