neighbors who are lifelong habitual democrats, but none who actually supported democrat party policies. I have met only a small number of truly liberal farmers who supported left wing policies, even 'progressive' agricultural policies. But these guys were heavily involved in politics and were advocates and advisors at the policy level. These types often let their access to powerful people go to their heads and use it in pursuit of their own personal interests in the community.
