since Fox sent them packing, likely the same thing happens to Carlson outside of a relatively small aud of true believers. Whatever "platform" you think Carlson could start, it does not compare with basically evening broadcast inton millions of homes, an audience there who will move on to the next thing. One of Carlson's foremost sources was 4chan for christsakes. He had a niche schtick and a flashing moment.
