I was home from Mizzou and was watching tv on his winning the Cal primary in 1968 when he was assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan at the Ambassador Hotel in LA. Big dem in those days. Hell even voted absentee for George McGovern from Bum Fxck South Vietnam in Nov 1972. He may have carried the absentee vote from South Vietnam but that was about all he carried --except South Dakota
