This is the behind the scenes gossip. They settled for less because they had certain terms that were confidential . They wanted their pound of flesh. Carlson had no clue and signed off Friday unaware he was gone. Fox wasn't made to have on air people apologize, instead this happened.

Makes some sense to me but could be BS.
