Thirteen states are under weather alerts today from Oregon to Texas, as the powerful storm that’s battering the West Coast begins its march eastward.
The storm has brought more rain, snow, and damaging winds to California, a state that has recently seen catastrophic flooding and record snowfall.
The system is expected to bring 1 to 2 feet of snow as it moves east over the Rockies on Thursday and Thursday night.
On Friday, the threat ramps up with 47 million people at risk from Louisiana to Wisconsin and eastward into Ohio, for damaging wind gusts to more than 75 mph, hail and several tornadoes.
By Friday afternoon the storm may impact Mississippi and Alabama, two states still reeling from last week’s deadly tornado outbreak.
