One of the most accomplished athletes in MU annals, Bradley lettered in football at MU from 1977-80, and in baseball in 1979-80-81. A native of Macomb, Illinois, Bradley quarterbacked the Tigers to three bowl games. He was the Big Eight Conference “Offensive Player of the Year” three times and set the league total offense record at 6,459 yards which stood for 10 years. In baseball, he starred as an outfielder on MU teams that won the Big Eight championship in 1980 and went to the NCAA Tournament in 1980 and ‘81. As a senior he hit .457, was all-Big Eight and all-America. He made the Big Eight all-tournament team in both 1980, when he was the tournament MVP, and ’81. Bradley held school career records for career walks and on-base percentage and five other records when he graduated. His Missouri baseball number-15 is retired. Bradley was drafted by the Seattle Mariners and played with them through 1987. He was named to the 1985 American League All-Star Team and hit .300 with a career-high 26 home runs that season. He also played with the Philadelphia Phillies, Baltimore Orioles and Chicago White Sox. He played briefly in Japan. He was a career .286 hitter during his eight major league seasons. Since retiring he spent time as the head baseball coach at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, as a volunteer assistant coach with the Missouri softball program, and as a special assistant to the executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association. He was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
