What's getting me about this whole deal

For nearly 2 years, schools and government were looking for any excuse to close things due to Covid.
On this, there is a toxic explosion and government seems to want to rush into telling people that everything is fine, when it's pretty clearly not. And send everyone back to school/work immediately. And this seems to have a lot more potential to cause short/long term issues for a higher percentage of people than Covid. People talking about having physical symptoms and pets dying here is just "anecdotal" when in Covid they were blowing up rare situations and using it to scare everyone. The difference in how this is being handled/communicated is rather appalling.
