of capitalism and opportunity". It's a constitutional, federal republic. Capitalism is not a system, and govt does not comport with it. In theory, a constitutional, federal republic is preferred over other types of government, but that is a race to the bottom and that is only in theory of course.
Second, as to what the US govt actually is and has become, it's part socialist, part fascist, part oligarchic, and heavy on the cronyism. It's a very, very, very bad government (especially for capitalism) regardless of which administration is running it, and it's getting worse by each administration. Furthermore, the brewing communist, maoist cultural revolution that is occurring in the US will make it far, far worse. Their prize is control of the largest govt in human history, with the largest tax bounty in human history, and with the (present) ability to counterfeit the world's reserve currency. For those that want to use a govt to control others' lives, the US govt is one hell of a prize.
Lastly, in regards to this question:
When you say you don't like the government? What exactly are you talking about?
When I say I don't like the government, I mean I don't like the government.
