The U.S. has the largest armed forces in NATO. However, the Army has only ten active combat divisions and the Marine Corps has only three or four. That's maybe 200,000 men in arms, fully trained and equipped for battle on the ground. Turkey has the second largest armed forces in NATO. Don't expect any help from them. The Poles are willing, but lack modern equipment and support troops. The rest of NATO can barely field a Corps in the aggregate. NATO escalation toward direct confrontation with Russian armed forces in the Ukraine is madness.
