"I'm sorry we're short staffed"

Will this excused (often valid) ever go away or is the guinea out of the bottle and there's no turning back.

I go by Jiffy Lube at 12:02...can't do oil changes until 1pm, short staffed. On lunch break.

Call CVS to see if my prescription sent yesterday afternoon is ready...won't be ready until tomorrow after lunch. Short staffed, working as fast as they can.

I don't doubt that many businesses are short staffed but i'm short staffed at work. I would have 15 direct reports if I was fully staffed, I have 12...but I can't used the "short staffed" excuse, I roll up my f'ing sleeves and get the f'ing work done, I along with my team.

Can we just f'ing let more Mexican's in? I'm certain they could change the oil in my car, let the smarter ones in to fill my f'ing prescription.

I have no doubt if I go out to eat this weekend it will be slow and some kind of f'ing delay because they're "short staffed".

It's an excuse that I fear will never go away.

Yes, i'm rather grumpy today.
